Lavender Ombre Glasses

While I was home over Christmas I went on a fun antiquing trip with my mom and sisters. It’s become a tradition {here are some of last year’s finds} and this year I scored this gorgeous set of lavender ombre glasses. Ever since Nicole posted about her ombre salad bowls I’ve been on the hunt for a set of something similar. I included them in a place setting for dinner last night while we were entertaining friends {along with West Elm plates and flatware} and I love the pretty bit of color they added to the table.
P.S. An exciting announcement on the blog tomorrow!

Antique Finds

Along with my chalkboard frame, here are a few things I found while antiquing with my mom and sisters.
01. A milk glass assortment.
02. Brass desk lamp {love the green shade}.
03 + 04. A full set of hand-painted gold china. I want to pair them up with this West Elm dinnerware to make it a mix of modern and classic. This set was $10! Such a steal.
05. Copper tea kettle. I want to eventually have a collection of all copper pots and pans. This is a start!
06. A bar cart! Finally! Spotted this in the corner of a teensy antique store and I’m obsessed.
Have you found anything good while out thrifting/antiquing lately? Do tell!

Chalkboard DIY

I found this frame while antiquing with my mom and sisters. A couple coats of spray paint totally transformed it! A DIY chalkboard was on my list of things to accomplish in 2012, and I’m glad to have something small knocked off my list. I’ll be hanging this in our kitchen to keep track of grocery lists and menus for the week.
P.S. More of my antique/thrift store finds coming later!
