Hello Natalie Merrillyn readers, I am Sara from a dose of pretty
I am so flattered to be here sharing my spring staples with you.
Spring is one of my favorite times of the year and I am really looking
forward to some flowering blooms and spring showers.
My latest acquisition is this handbag. I adore the color and the leather is exquisite.
I am a big fan of J.Crew jewelry as you can see. Some of the other items shown
above are: Panama hat, Rebecca Minkoff clutch, J. Crew clutch, Zara sequin clutch,

For spring I am loving neon and florals, but I also can’t live without some of my neutral pieces – black leather shorts and a classic pleated skirt. The shirts (striped, gingham, chambray, and silk shirts) shown here are some of my staples that I pretty much wear all year round. I am currently
wanting to add pink and orange gingham shirts to my slow growing collection.

Lace and colored skinnies (coral, cobalt blue, and red) along with my cheetah skinnies
are another portion of my spring wardrobe. I hope to add some green colored skinnies
and a pair of floral pants soon.

Layers and more layers. A classic trench coat and its forms, sleeveless and short,
are a must along with a few other basics such as a denim jacket.
Loafers, neon yellow wedges, sequin sandals, my seen-better-days Sperrys,
and neutral flats, will be seen and worn a lot during this season. I am wanting to add
a pair of metallic Sperrys to give mine a break.
I hope you enjoyed looking at my spring staples straight out of my closet
and I hope you stop by and visit me and say hello.

News

Exciting news — Matt and I will be spending six weeks starting in May living in New York City!  I’ve been missing it since our last trip there, and I’m so excited to be going back to live for a short time. After New York we’ll be in Seattle for a few weeks {I’ve never been but have heard great things}. We’re excited about it, and enjoying this time in our lives where we can just pick up and move anywhere. Any tips on what to do and see while we’re in New York or Seattle?

Nicole Cohen

I am obsessed with Nicole Cohen‘s artwork. The colors she chooses are incredible!
I love that her prints are only $50 a piece, I’ll definitely be adding one or two to our gallery wall collection. Check out her blog here and her apartment {one of my all-time favorite features} here {page 100}.

Hair

I feel like I’ve finally gotten to a point where I’ve experimented with enough hair products and tools, and have finally found a regimen that works perfectly for me. I don’t use all of this every single day, but here are my tried and true favorite hair products.
For clean hair | Keratin Perfect PerfectCleanse Keratin Enhanced Shampoo | This shampoo doesn’t have a lot of the chemicals that most shampoos do, and it cleans my hair without the build-up. Leaves my hair super soft and smooth.
For conditioned hair | L’Oreal Professional Expert Serie Force Vector Mask | My hair gets really dry and brittle, and this repairs everything.
For soft, healthy hair | Moroccan Oil Hair Treatment | I apply this to the ends of my hair. It makes everything soft and silky. And it smells incredible.
For beach hair | Bumble and Bumble Bb Texture {Un}Dressing Creme | This gives my hair a beachy texture. I curl a few sections of my hair, then apply this for a messier look.
For next-day hair | Suave Professionals Dry Shampoo | This is my favorite dry shampoo that I’ve found. I spray it on my hair before I do a messy-top bun. Plus you can’t beat the price.
For straight hair | Hana Professional Flat Iron | Misikko sent me one of their Hana hair straighteners, and it’s the best straightener I’ve tried. It heats up super fast and leaves my hair straight and sleek. {It also works for curling my hair}.
For curly hair | Hot Tools Professional Spring Curling Iron | This is super easy to use and leaves my hair with big, soft curls.
What are your favorite hair products?
