+ Super excited that fall is here. Can’t wait till it’s cool enough for my new fall boots to debut.
+ Looking forward to a little weekend getaway this coming weekend, followed by a visit to my family in Annapolis next week! I can’t wait to see this little nugget {who is now one!}.
+ These guys just came in and they’re gorgeous — really well made and such a stunning fabric!
+ Pinterest is my new 100% go-to’s for recipes. Most recently: this, with this for dessert.
I must have been living under a rock because I just recently learned about balayage effect — a coloring technique that is easier and more natural than normal highlights (it’s done freehand instead of with foils). It’s how you get the ombre effect on hair, but it can be done in highlight form, too. I love, love the look! A few weeks ago I decided to give it a try (I started with a half head instead of a full head). The results are really natural, sun-kissed look that gave me just the right amount of dimension and color. I may go bolder and do a full head next time, but one of the amazing things about balayage is that you don’t have to get it re-done very often (or ever, if you don’t want to). It grows out really naturally since it’s less extreme than normal highlights. It really is the best of everything! I’m curious, have you ever had balayage done to your hair?
P.S. Over the weekend I guest posted on Becca’s blog about my favorites for fall! Check it out here.
I’m so excited to introduce Kelsey Design, my newest sponsor! Kelsey is a freelance interior designer and has such an amazing eye for styling. I’m obsessed with her storyboards!
If you have a room you need to re-envision, or just need a little room-styling help, today is your lucky day because Kelsey is giving away one of her storyboards to a reader!
WHAT IS STORYBOARD DESIGN?
Storyboard Design is a guide to putting together a budget friendly, cohesive, and well designed space, inspired by your style. This includes three files:
The Storyboard with one round of revisions
A shopping list using on-line sources
How-to Guide for putting the room together
HOW DOES IT WORK?
After a winner is chosen, Kelsey will email you a questionnaire. This questionnaire will ask about your color preferences, styles, questions about the space and ask for a link to your Pinterest board with inspiration or there is also an option to upload photos of your favorite spaces. This is key in undestanding your likes and dislikes, so please be thorough in your inspiration. Kelsey will correspond via e-mail with any additional questions. You will receive your Storyboard Design, look it over, and, if so desired, you may have one round of revisions. Too find out more, check out Kelsey’s service page here.
