Winterizing

When cooler weather comes around I tend to change my skin and hair routine to accomodate. I have naturally dryer hair and skin so cold and wind can just make things worse — here are some products that  I’ve been loving lately that have worked wonders for my hair and skin.
Virgin Coconut Oil | This is basically a miracle product and food. I apply it to my entire face at night (super scary because it looks greasy and has the word oil in it) but it’s actually anti-acne, anti-oxidant, anti-bacterial, anti-wrinkle, multi-vitamin — the list goes on. I also apply it to my hair as a hair mask and leave it in for about an hour before I shower. I also have been eating it (about two tablespoons a day) — eating it has tons more benefits that you can read more about here. Make sure to get organic, virgin coconut oil if you buy!
Weleda Iris Hydrating Day Cream |  I just started using this day cream under my makeup in the morning and it’s amazing. It’s made my skin look so dewy and healthy — perfect if you live in a dryer climate. It’s really rich and a little goes a long way. It also smells amazing! Get it 20% off with code CN20 here.
Apple Cider Vinegar | Another miracle product — I use this as a toner after washing my face. I also use it as a hair rinse and it makes my hair super shiny (be sure to dilute it if you’re using it directly on your skin or hair). I also take about two teaspoons of this a day (I drink it with water or apple juice). If you buy make sure to get organic, raw, unpasteurized with the “mother” in it. You can read all about it and its health benefits here
Dr. Haushka Rose Body Oil | I have been using this on my skin after patting dry after the shower and I’m obsessed with how it feels. It makes my skin so soft and even in the evening it’s still glowing from the moisture. It smells incredible — a must if you like a good rose scent. Get it 25% off with code DH25 here.
What are your go-to products for winter time? I’d love to hear!

  1. Having dry skin problem myself, I salute you on this post and great recommendations!
And I would like to add that Cold Cream from Avene is great harsh winter conditions. It can be a bit heavy so I apply it before I bed time.

  2. So do you just eat a tbsp of the coconut oil by itself? Or do you drizzle it on some sort of food?

Thx for the tips – I’m excited to try some of these!

  3. these tips are amazing. i will def be trying them out because i have the same issues once this cold weather hits! i have never heard of coconut oil, but def a must try!
