Exciting news — Matt and I will be spending six weeks starting in May living in New York City!  I’ve been missing it since our last trip there, and I’m so excited to be going back to live for a short time. After New York we’ll be in Seattle for a few weeks {I’ve never been but have heard great things}. We’re excited about it, and enjoying this time in our lives where we can just pick up and move anywhere. Any tips on what to do and see while we’re in New York or Seattle?

  1. How exciting! One thing I aim to do in my lifetime is live in New York (if only for a short time period). It’s hard when you’re in Canada and have to worry about visas and such – but I’m still going to make it happen!

  2. What?! That’s amazing!! How exciting!! SO much to do and see in NYC, but the first thing that comes to my mind is the Momofuku Bakery- Their crack pie {recipe on the cover of Bon Apetit}, birthday cake truffles and hot chocolate are amazing!

  3. Oh I am so excited for you and a little jealous! I always tell my husband I wish we could just move around and live in different cities before we have kids!! Can’t wait to hear about your adventures!

  4. How fun! I spent a summer in college living there, and I loved every moment. May is such a beautiful time to be in the City, so I’m glad you’re going to be able to enjoy it with Matt. My favorite little hidden spot in the city is Cafe Reggio– it’s pretty historic; home to the first espresso machine in NYC. Let me know if you’d like other tips or restaurant recommendations!

  5. YAY! OH my goodness I love love love the city! I was just there these past two days working! We may just have to have a little blogger meet up sometime! Must go to bryant park on a nice day and walk along the hudson, also you must go to soho and meatpacking district, super cute to walk around, shop eat, etc. Meatpacking has some fun night spots if youre into that. Do you know what area you guys will be living at?!

  6. How wonderful! I’ve never been to Seattle but I’ve heard great things too! As for New York, I recommend walking as much as you can because I think seeing the city is more fun that way. If you can/want to, try to see a broadway show (The Book of Mormon is AMAZING). There is this great pizza place in SoHo called Rubirosa, and I HIGHLY recommend going to Momofuku Milk Bar. Hope you have a wonderful time here and in Seattle! :]
