Weekend Shopping

Happy weekend! And happy February! I don’t know about you but this week and this month seemed to take forever. I’m so glad for a fresh start.
P.S. Did you get a chance to browse J.Crew’s new arrivals? I’m loving everything but I have my eye on this gorgeous cobalt number
Have a great weekend!

Metal Belts

I have been loving the look of these metal belts that have been so popular in street style lately. I think I need to invest in one — it’s such a perfect addition to an otherwise simple outfit. I’d wear it with a loose-fitting black blouse or dress and keep the rest of my accessories simple. {A couple of my belt picks here, here, and here.}

A Sewing Project

As I mentioned here I’m wanting to update our bedding with everything white. After I saw these pillows I knew they were perfect for our bedroom. While I was home over the holidays I took advantage of my mom’s sewing machine and skills and we worked on our own version of the pillow together. We bought a thick white upholstery fabric and two-inch black velvet ribbon — overall we were able to do the project very inexpensively. The back is an envelope back which made the whole project very simple. I’m super happy with how they turned out {thanks for the help, Mom!}

Warby Parker

{From top to bottom: Preston | Crosby | Mallory | Cromwell | Everett}

Over the weekend I got to try out Warby Parker’s home try-on program. I’ve been a huge fan of Warby Parker for forever — I love their stylish take on glasses and their amazing prices. The home try-on program allows you to try on five glasses of your choice for free before making your decision. Genius! Another fabulous thing about Warby Parker: for every pair that’s purchased, one pair is donated to someone in need.
 I ended up picking the Crosby {pictured} and the Everett for sunglasses. Thanks, WP!
