French Basics

French Basics

I love this checklist that’s floating around on Pinterest right now — it’s so helpful to have a tangible list of basics that you can easily mix and match depending on the occasion or season. This is a great way to start building your wardrobe and you can add in trendier, interesting pieces to fill it in as you go. There are a few things I’m missing off of here {a leather jacket is high up on my list!} and a few items I’d add to it: a nice pea coat and a classic pair of sunglasses {like Ray-Bans} are musts for me. Shop my picks from the list below!

Lately I’m loving the look of blanket capes {inspired by Burberry}, cozy knits, and fedoras — it’s a perfect Autumn uniform. Also, that book is on my must-read list.

Happy Wednesday! xo

So sorry for the lack of content around here — I miss regular posting so much! Here is a little bit of what I’ve been up to lately — Autumn is here and I’m reminded why it’s my favorite season, the weather has been perfect for hot drinks, layers, and boots. It’s been a little hectic balancing life and work but we have a vacation booked to Instanbul in just a few weeks. We’ve heard amazing things about Istanbul and are so excited to experience such a culturally different place. Any tips on things we have to do or see?

Venice

I’m finally getting around to sorting and sharing pictures from my trip to Venice in August. I got to go for work (!) and it was the best experience. Even though it was just for the weekend, I managed to see quite a bit of the city, and get the full Venitian experience at the Vanity Fair Venice Film Festival Party (talk about work perks!) A water taxi came to pick us up for the party, we got in wearing our long dresses and tuxes, and the boat carried us along the lit canal. I felt like I was in a James Bond film – it was the most glamorous experience! I have been thinking about Venice and Italy non-stop since I left —  I can’t wait to go back.
