A New Year

I’m excited that things are starting to settling down and that I’ll be able to get back into a regular posting routine– so sorry for my blogging neglect!

Our Christmas was wonderful, it was so nice sharing it together as husband and wife. We woke up, had brunch, and opened presents together under our little tree. Matt was so sweet and got me an Anthropologie jacket, some pretty things to decorate our home, and some things from my wishlist. After that, we headed to Matt’s parent’s house where we had Christmas dinner with his family.
Christmas felt so different this year, and while I thought I would be sad being so far away from my family back East (I did miss them), it was so fun being here and starting new traditions.
I can’t believe 2011 is here! 2010 has been the best year of my life thus far. Last New Year, I remember looking at Matt and thinking that this year would be an amazing one. And it was. We got engaged. Planned a wedding. Got married in September. I graduated, ending the long-distance part of our relationship. It’s been a whirlwind year and I feel so fortunate. In the next few weeks we’ll be moving and settling into our new place– such a great way to start the year!
As always, I feel so thankful for the friends I have made through blogging, and for all of your support and sweet comments. Looking forward to a great year on the blog, too, including posts about our home, some cooking, and our new life together. Wishing everyone a safe and happy New Year!

i felt the same way on Christmas. I so thought i’d be crying in the corner without my fam around but just hanging out with JB made me happy as a clam.

  3. Happy New Year to you and your hubby! A friend of mine had gotten married October of 2010 and she felt the same way, she thought she would be sad about not being able to spend Christmas with her family but she said it is fun to start a new tradition. She had agreed with her hubby that they would be spending Christmas with the hubby’s fam and New Year’s Eve with her fam. Happy 2011!
